Here are ideas for Nerf storage and organization, for both large and small collections of blasters, as well as foam accessories.
Do you have kids who absolutely love playing with Nerf blasters, or similar toys? If so, you know how many of them they can collect, and how you can find both the toy guns and the accessories, such as the foam darts, everywhere.
Below I've gathered a few popular ideas for how to organize and store these toys that look great, and works well.
The genesis of this page came when a reader, Andrea, sent in these photos above showing how she had organized all of these items.
Andrea said, "This was our cluttered hall closet. It had an air conditioner, paintings, nerf guns, aquarium stuff...It was always difficult to keep everything in order. Now it’s an amazing nerf armory!"
Storing your toy guns and blasters on the wall makes a lot of sense, because these items are bulky so it's hard to keep them inside a container. Using wall storage makes use of otherwise unusable space, keeps everything visible, and allows kids to choose the blaster they'd like to use.
You can mount these blasters inside a closet, or on a wall inside a room, such as a bedroom or playroom. Whatever works best for you!
One of the easiest ways to mount the blasters and accessories on the wall is with a peg board. That's what a reader, Brittany, did, and she sent in these photos above showing the results.
Brittany said, "Our 6 year old son has a walk-in closet and my husband did this, on one of the walls."
When you see this idea in action, it intuitively makes sense. And it's relatively east to implement. That's what a reader, Charity, whose photo of her pegboard storage project is below, explained. She said, "It really is an easy project! A little spray paint and had them cut the board at the hardware store."
Not only can you mount the blasters themselves to the wall using this method, but if you purchase the right organizing equipment, you can also use your pegboard to help you store the accessories for these blasters, like the foam darts they use to shoot.
The main things you need for this storage solution is a wall and pegboard. I also suggest getting the pegs, hooks, and baskets that allow you to use your wall-mounted peg board as a real storage solution for the accessories as well.
Here is a collage with even more great pictures sent in by readers, showing how they store and organize their Nerf blasters, and other types of blasters.
The photos are from the following readers, from top to bottom, left to right: Charity, Brenda, Melanie, Chad (who stores his small blasters in a hanging pocket organizer, instead of on pegboards), and John.
As you can see, many people use the pegboard wall storage for organizing these toys for a reason, it works. Here's a larger picture from Chad, who was mentioned above though, showing how he organizes and stores his smaller blasters using a hanging pocket organizer, often used for shoes, but which of course has lots of other organizing uses!
